Semi-Antique Zanjan Geometric Medallion Hand-Knotted Wool Runner

A one-of-a-kind semi-antique Zanjan runner in red, featuring elongated stepped geometric medallion surrounded by small tribal motifs. Deep black, charcoal grey, dark navy blue, ivory, green and muted blue accents bring strong definition to its richly detailed composition.

Natural abrash is visible within the dark black field, where the colour varies between deep black, charcoal and softer grey tones. These tonal variations were created as differently dyed batches of dark wool were introduced during the original hand-weaving process. The red areas remain consistent. Abrash is an authentic characteristic of handmade rugs—not fading, damage or a defect—and makes this piece especially individual.

Hand-knotted using traditional techniques.

Professionally restored and triple deep washed, preserving its authentic low wool pile.
