Rare Vintage Hamadan Collectible Hand-Knotted Wool Runner

An exceptionally unusual Hamadan runner with a light beige field featuring countless tiny red sprigs arranged in orderly diagonal rows. Down the centre, a procession of stylized motifs creates a strong pictorial axis, each rendered in brown, red, coral, muted green and small blue accents. Delicate hanging forms and small birds enrich the lower section, while a broad red-and-brown border of repeating shield-like devices gives the composition a bold geometric frame. The rare design, low-soft pile and light ground distinguish it immediately from more typical dark-field Hamadan runners.

Hand-knotted using traditional techniques.

Professionally triple deep washed and carefully restored entirely by hand using traditional methods, preserving the rug’s authentic character.
